Hamburg based electronic superband Stella and former act on legendary label Ladomat has made a big return into the scene of advanced electronic with their critically acclaimed 4th longplayer called ‘Fukui’. After Ladomat has closed, Stella has found a new home at Clouds Hill Rec.
The three band mates of Stella consisting of Elena Lange, Mense Reents and Thies Mynther are well-known names to experts in the field. Reents, for one, has raised many an eyebrow as part of the duo Egoexpress (and he´s currently a member of the Goldenen Zitronen). Mynther, on the other hand, played with Allwissenden Billardkugel and dozens of other bands. Today he tickles the ivories in bands like Phanton/Ghost and Superpunk.  With their Stella project they continue to strive at the most professional level possible for imperfection, to fight against the ideology and trend of shaping people to be a certain way, and to oppose any sullen observations. “Nobody Can Do Me No Harm” is one of their few English-language lines. The music, as one might expect from Stella, is compelling and intoxicating. We would say it’s Pop at its best. Liberating pop that shakes things up, that is tryly an alternative to the boredom of everyday life. With ‘Office & Store’ featuring the capturing vocal performance of Elena and the electronic boogie jam ‘Thunderbird’ – two of the most outstanding tracks have been taken of the 4th Stella album ‘Fukui’ to make them part of the much talked about collectors vinyl box ‘Analog Love In Digital Times’ including a superb deep-house remix by Dial Rec. finest Efdemin. Simply a wonderful release which goes down very well for advanced dj sets and listening alike.
